The eyebrow lift is one of the most useful procedures in facial rejuvenation but the scars of the traditional forehead lift makes this a difficult operation to recommend to patients. Endoscopic procedures require special equipment which adds to the cost of the procedure. A simple alternative has been used by the author for five years to suspend the eye-brows with simple prolene sutures anchored to the galea. No incisions are made in the eye-brow and the only special instrument required is a spinal needle. 6-8 tiny stab-incisions are required to introduce 3-4 suspensory sutures.
Long term stable positioning is possible and the brows may also be re-shaped.
The post-operative period may be quite painful in the first 24 hours but settles soon. The brows may be elevated afterwards but cannot be depressed, and the appearance is very natural. The final shape can easily be modified.
