Fig. 1

Fig.1. Absorption spectra obtained with newly prepared (PDQT01) and after 24 h (PDQT13) 0.01 mM PDQ solutions in phosphate buffer pH7 and absorption spectra registered with the same solutions in the presence of 1.5 mM DTPA. Newly prepared (DTPAT01) and after 24 h (DTPAT12). The samples were always kept in darkness at 37 ºC under aerobic conditions

Fig. 2

Fig 2. Plot of the absorbance measured at 348nm vs. time obtained with 0.01 mM PDQ solutions in phosphate buffer pH7 kept in darkness at 37º C. Influence of the DTPA and ferrous ion concentrations. See inset for identification of symbols in the plot

Fig. 3

Fig 3. Plot of the oxygen consumption vs. time for samples containing distilled water (full diamonds), 10 mM PDQ in the presence of 0.5 mM DTPA in phosphate buffer pH7 (open square) and 10 mM PDQ, solution in phosphate buffer pH7 (full circles).Temperature: 37 ºC

Fig. 4

Fig. 4. Absorption spectra recordered at different times with 0.44 mM hydroquinone solutions (H2Q) in phosphate buffer pH7 (T = 37 ºC) in the absence and the presence of DTPA (2.8 mM). See legends in the inset to identificate the spectra.
