Meeting opening: Thursday Dec 3rd, 2009 at 09h00; Meeting closure: Friday Dec 4th, 2009 at 17h00. The first day was dedicated to COST IC0604 matters (MC, Working Groups meetings, scientific discussions). Potentially we could already start dealing with prospection (VIDA) on that day, which will be concluded by a social dinner. The meeting t ook place on the campus of EPFL which is located in the western suburb of the city of Lausanne. We recommend you taking the accommodation downtown in Lausanne, and to commute from there by using the metropolitan line to EPFL.GENERAL INFORMATION (travel, accommodation, campus location, meeting rooms) General information upon travel, accommodation options, local transportantion means to take, and finally the place of the meeting rooms on the EPFL campus, are all furnished on the website ( http://mmspl.epfl.ch/page31935.html).
=> TRAVEL TO LAUSANNE / EPFL FROM AIRPORT A railway station is reachable directly next to or within the Geneva and Zurich / Kloten airports. It is advised to arrive via Geneva airport to minimize travel time. The Basel / Mulhouse airport is connected to the Basel railway station by using a shuttle. Timetable of the trains from any of these airports to Lausanne city (or to EPFL) can be found here ( http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm ). "Geneva airport", "Zurich airport" or "Basel airport" can be typed in as departing place, and "Lausanne" or "EPFL" can be specified as arrival destinations to get the corresponding timetables. REGISTRATION For logistical reasons, we kindly ask you to register on this website ( http://inform.epfl.ch/?form=COST_IC0604) to furnish your information upon arrival / departure etc. so that EPFL can proceed adequately to all arrangements. Registration is of course free of fees, but requested. Thank you.
LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS The first appended files furnishes an overview of the city map, including indication of the EPFL campus on the left, and also indication of the place where we will meet for the social dinner (an extra message will be sent for the latter event). The second and third appended files provide the timetable of the metropolitan enabling to go from Lausanne (departure at the station labelled "Lausanne-Flon") to EPFL, and back. The walking path from the metro stop at EPFL and the meeting rooms will be marked.
MEETING ROOMS Please notice that we will use a different meeting room every day: On Thursday December 3rd, 2009, we will convene in the EPFL meeting room BC02 ( http://plan.epfl.ch/?room=BC02), whereas on December 4th we will be in the meeting room CO122 (http://plan.epfl.ch/?room=CO122), as indicated in the general info webpage dedicated to the COST IC0604 plenary (http://mmspl.epfl.ch/page31935.html).=> map of the campus: http://map.epfl.ch/
