Table 1. Values of mitochondrial activity (MTT assay), free radicals generation (luminol or lucigenin chemiluminiscence), lipid peroxidation (TBARS assay) and protein oxidation, in synaptosomes from mouse frontal cortex under basal conditions (control), in presence of ethanol (EtOH) 25 mM, 50 mM and 100 mM, after stimulation with K+ 25 mM and after stimulation with K+ 25 mM in presence of ethanol (EtOH) 25 mM, 50 mM and 100 mM. The results are expressed as previously described in Material and Methods (Mean±SEM; n=11).

Figure 1. Effects of ethanol 25 mM, 50 mM and 100 mM on specific AspAP activity in frontal cortex synaptosomes of mouse in basal conditions (A) or after stimulation with K+ 25 mM (B). The results are expressed in nmol of Asp-ß-naphthylamide hydrolized per min and per mg of protein (Media±SEM; n=11; **p<0.01).

Figure 2. Effects of ethanol 25 mM, 50 mM and 100 mM on specific GluAP activity in frontal cortex synaptosomes of mouse in basal conditions (A) or after stimulation with K+ 25 mM (B). The results are expressed in nmol of Glu-ß-naphthylamide hydrolized per min and per mg of protein (Media±SEM; n=11; **p<0.01).
