Training school in the use of Open Source Image Analysis Software in Pathology
24-26th June, 2009. Nottingham, UK

TARGET AUDIENCE AND FORMAT

 

  1. Pathologists who are newcomers to image analysis (i.e. with little or no experience
     

  2. Signal processing engineers (i.e. interested in medical imaging)
     

  3. PhD students

By the end of the session the attendees should:

  1. Understand the theory and limitations of image capture and manipulation
     

  2. Be able to use ImageJ to view images captured by different hardwares
     

  3. Be able to perform basic image analysis
     

  4. identify appropriate plug-ins for their requirements
     

All attendees to bring own laptop

FORMAT OF TRAINING SCHOOL

  1. Formal lectures
     

  2. Interactive tutorials
     

  3. Problem solving exercises
     

  4. Problems / presentations brought in by attendees
     

  5. Examples of solutions
     

  6. Discussion sessions (including commercial companies) to discuss future directions
