Clinical history    

Male, 75. Ex-smoker and moderate alcohol intake, with high blood pressure. He refers swallowing pain (odynophagia) since three moths ago, night dyspnoea, dysphagia and weight loss.
ORL examination showed a protruding lesion at the aryepiglottic fold and left arytenoid, completely occluding lumen of laryngeal vestibule and glottis. No palpable adenopathy was noted. A biopsy was performed and the diagnosis of epidermoid carcinoma was made.
Total laryngectomy and left neck dissection for lymph node was performed.

Well differentiated neuroendocrine tumor (carcinoid)
Well differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (atypical carcinoid)
Poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (small cell carcinoma)
