Case history:
41 years old woman admitted at the hospital's pneumology department for the
first time in March 2005 with a well defined and limited nodule in left low
lobe finding in a thoracic plain x-ray film.
The patient also developed dyspnoea and sibilant rales for the last year and
a half. No other symptoms.
PHYSICAL
EXAMINATION: No findings
COMPLEMENTARY
TESTS:
- Thoracic CT: Unspecific nodule in left low lobe (diameter: 2,2 x 1,9 cm),
with well defined limits and a higher density than fast. No calcium inside.
This nodule had already been described in a thoracic plain film made for
asthma control.
- Three bacilloscopy in sputum: negative.
- Respiratory Function Test: FV1 60%, FVC 90%, FV1/FVC 69%, MMCR 22%.
The morphology of the flow-volume curve was compatible with an obstructive
pattern.
