INTRODUCTION: Many contributions have been in the field of auricular reconstructive surgery. Between differents techniques employees to reconstruct the auricular pavilion, one of this went carries out for Brendt, who modified several concepts from the original described by Tanzer in 1974.
OBJECTIVE: To be able to illustrate the concept and development of this technique we present the case of a 52 year-old patient that suffered traumatic loss of the two inferior thirds of the right auricular pavilion, by traffic accident. For their reconstruction, we were carried out costal graft, VII and VIII ribs, designing a similar cartilaginous skeleton to the normal one, but of smaller thickness; it was implanted by a small previous incision. Later, in successive surgical times, we became unstuck the auricular pavilion and the region of the tragus and auricular lobe were reconstructed.
