Clinical history
Male, 75. Ex-smoker and moderate alcohol intake, with high blood pressure. He refers swallowing pain (odynophagia) since three moths ago, night dyspnoea, dysphagia and weight loss.
ORL examination showed a protruding lesion at the aryepiglottic fold and left arytenoid, completely occluding lumen of laryngeal vestibule and glottis. No palpable adenopathy was noted. A biopsy was performed and the diagnosis of epidermoid carcinoma was made.
Total laryngectomy and left neck dissection for lymph node was performed.
