fiogf49gjkf0d Female, 57 years old, with a right thyroid tumor, rapidly growing, with compression symptoms and some tenderness during palpation manoeuvres.
Fine needle aspiration of the thyroid tumor is performed.
Resumen de historia clínica:
Mujer de 57 años de edad que muestra una tumoración tiroidea derecha, de crecimiento rápido, con síntomas de compresión y ligeramente dolorosa a la palpación.
Se realiza punción aspiración con aguja fina del tumor de la glándula tiroidea.

Cytology
fiogf49gjkf0d A fine needle aspiration of the mass was perfumed, and abundant grey material is obtained.
Cytology smears a homogeneous population of large fusiform and polygonal cells can be observed, with a ill defined cytoplasm, showing hyperchromatism, focal pleomorphism, and prominent nucleoli. There was a dirty background and abundant accompanying inflammatory cells, predominantly neutrophils.
Estudio citológico:
Se realiza punción aspiración con aguja fina obteniéndose abundante material grisáceo.
En las extensiones citológicas se observaba una población heterogénea de células grandes fusiformes y poligonales, con citoplasma mal definido, que exhibían hipercromatismo, ocasional pleomorfimo y nucleolos a veces prominente. Se acompañaba de abundante detritus y celularidad inflamatoria con prominencia de polimorfonucleares.
